Brooomm! The early engine roar fills one’s ears on Honda Day.

Honda Day or “The Festival of all Hondas” is an international event that is celebrated once a year. This was the first time it was held in the Philippines, at Mandaue City’s Cebu Kart Zone, last weekend. It was a gathering of all Honda car clubs, fans and enthusiasts and was not the usual car show, but also a cordial competition between Honda car owners – the Honda Family Fellowship, if you will.

The Honda Day 2021 was a two-day weekend event involving different activities for participating Honda Car owners, including racing, test-driving, displaying the best accessorized Honda cars and a contest among old Honda cars that are still in good running condition.

The first day was mainly dedicated to test-driving the new Honda models, including the Brio, City, Civic, Jazz, Accord, BR-V and Type-R. Not surprisingly, there was a long queue to drive the iconic Type R. This was followed by inter-club fellowships and cordial meetings of friends emerging from extended Covid lockdowns for the past 15 months. So, just being out in an open field with families was like vacationing in the Bahamas for them.

The second day, Sunday, was highlighted by major race competitions and the awarding of prize winners. X-1R Philippines was the sponsor for winning prizes, giving away packs of X-1R Performance Kits composed of X-1R Engine Treatment, X-1R Petrol Treatment, X-1R Automatic Transmission Treatment and X-1R Engine Flush.

All of the participants, who were passionate car-racing enthusiasts and true-blooded Honda lovers, found the event memorable, enjoyable and greatly entertaining.
