2019 Peugeot 3008 SUV Plus and Peugeot 5008 SUV Plus Launched in Malaysia

Nasim, the official Peugeot distributor in Malaysia, has launched the new Peugeot 3008 SUV Plus and Peugeot 5008 SUV Plus, hoping to ride on the success of its SUV sales. The Peugeot 3008 SUV Plus was the top-selling European SUV in Malaysia last year while the larger Peugeot 5008 SUV Plus is the seven-seater for bringing a larger group on a wilder ride.

The new Peugeot 3008 SUV Plus and 5008 SUV Plus are powered by a 1.6-litre THP engine capable of 165hp and 240Nm of torque while rolling on 18” alloy wheels. Both feature the same futuristic-feeling Peugeot i-Cockpit design, which transforms to and from BOOST, a “dynamic” ambience, to RELAX, which is more chill.

The 2019 models come with the option of a panoramic sunroof* so when you are enveloped in plush leather seats and lulled by blue mood lighting inside the cabin, you can still appreciate the blue (or sometimes overcast) skies of the tropics.

Another new feature is the built-in navigation system* which you can access on either the 8” central touchscreen or, perhaps less distracting, on the 12.3” instrument cluster.

On top of standard safety features, the new 3008 SUV Plus and 5008 SUV Plus get upgraded blind spot indicators. Windscreen-mounted camera and lateral ultrasound sensors will see where you cannot and alert you with an LED illumination on the side door mirrors when there is a vehicle in your blind spot. Very useful indeed for avoiding lane-splitting motorcycles so common on our roads.
