A Tesla Cybertruck exploded in front of incoming American president Donald Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas killing a suspect inside the vehicle and injuring others.
The case is still under investigation but terrorism has not been ruled out.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and Clark County Fire Department officials said that a person died inside the futuristic-looking pickup truck and seven people nearby suffered minor injuries.
Video captured at Telsa charging stations provided by CEO Elon Musk helped authorities track the vehicle’s journey, arriving in Las Vegas about 7:30 AM. then driving about an hour later into the valet area of the Trump International Hotel, where it sat 15 to 20 seconds before the explosion occurred.
The Tesla Cybertruck was rented by an undisclosed individual as the police have chosen not to reveal their identity. Though they have mentioned that they do not appear to be associated with any terrorist organisation.
Musk has also vehemently insisted on Twitter that the cause of the explosion was not due to a fault in the vehicle:

The police have also confirmed that there were gasoline cannisters and large fireworks mortars in the back of the truck.
Ever the opportunist, Elon also took to Twitter to give backdoor praise the Cybertruck saying,
“The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack, Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken.”
