Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Appoints Takashi Sakamaki as New CEO to Drive Next Phase of Growth

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the country, has announced the appointment of Takashi Sakamaki as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. He succeeds Shinya Ikeda, who has successfully led the company since 2021.
With over 20 years of international experience in the automotive industry, Sakamaki brings deep expertise in business strategy, export operations, and market expansion. His extensive tenure with Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) spans multiple countries including China, Indonesia, and Mexico, where he has played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s global footprint.

Under Ikeda’s leadership, MMM achieved major milestones, including the launch of the sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton and the facelifted XPANDER, now Malaysia’s best-selling non-national MPV. Since their introduction, over 120,000 Tritons and 50,000 XPANDERs have been sold nationwide a testament to Mitsubishi’s strong brand trust and customer loyalty.
Established in 2005, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia continues to expand its presence with 63 showrooms and 63 service centres nationwide.
