Malaysia Ranked 10th On A List Of The Most Scary Nations To Drive In

Well, we’ve done it again! We’re ranked 10th in the world on a list of the most scary places to drive in, this on top of the fact that we reached new highs in the amount of road deaths.

The study was revealed at Scrap Car Comparisons, which conducted a global survey to which 2,000 motorists responded.

The countries that participated were: UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Italy, and Spain.

Granted, that’s not a lot of people, but that makes it even more impressive that we made the top 10.

With an average ‘scare score’ of 7.15 out of a possible 10, India ranks as the country that motorists are most nervous to drive in, followed by Venezuela and Zimbabwe, each with average scores of over 6.9 out of 10.

The biggest reason respondents say they’re scared to drive overseas is that we drive on the other side of the road. A minor gripe, but still.

The second biggest concern is the dangerous driving of other motorists, with 55.9% of drivers picking this out as a worry.

Well, at least we’re not the highest-ranking Southeast Asian country on this list, that honour goes to Thailand, whose road rules are more like suggestions.

What do you think? Do you agree with this list? Can we get to number 1 in the near future?
