X-1R Sponsors and Wins Philippine Automotive Dealers’ Golf Tournament

It does not always happen that the president of one of the major sponsors of a golf tournament is also the overall champion. But during the recent historic, first-ever golf tournament organized by the Philippine Automotive Dealers Association (PADA), the overall champion was Brixton Aw, the president of CreativeSparx, Inc., X-1R’s exclusive distributor in the Philippines.

This golf tournament was a monumental success because it gathered under one roof the top honchos of the Philippine automotive industry. The presidents of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp., Nissan Philippines, Inc., Isuzu Philippines, Inc. and Geely Philippines, Inc. competed in the tournament. Presidents of the Philippine distributors for Rolls Royce, Mini and Aston Martin played as well.

Owners and principals of different automotive dealerships for Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda, Isuzu, Suzuki, Mazda, Subaru, Hyundai, Kia, Peugeot, MG, Chevrolet, Ford, Mini, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes Benz and Ferrari competed in this historic event. The participation was accentuated by the display of their respective car brands’ “best models” at the reception area of the Club House.

It was a wonderful time for the owners and stakeholders of the automotive industry to forego their usual busy Monday schedules and, instead, relax and compete in a game for the elite. It was a great moment of fun, fellowship, sharing of insights and foresight from no less than the movers of the industry

This tournament had a unique format of accommodating every golfer, from shy beginners to confident pros, as there were well-thought-out categories. There were categories for: sponsors, guests and media; for dealers and carmakers class A (single handicappers); and Class B (double handicappers). Everyone could play, and everyone had a chance to win the very generous raffle prizes.

The ballroom of the Orchard Golf and Country Club, where the tournament was held, was literally filled with raffle prizes up for grabs. A Golf Cart was the first prize, a 99″ TV was the second prize, 15 units of 32″ TVs were third-place prizes and there were hundreds of other prizes.

The runners up were Willy Tee Ten, Doroteo Sornet, Jeff Rolida, Hajime Koso, Allen Lim, Luis Penson, Caloy Soriano, Ryan Jarina, Michael Golez, Al Mendoza and Rommel Juan.
