Why Buy One When You Can Have Six 911s, and the Transporter

When it comes to six packs my mind immediately thinks of beer, but this is not the sort of six pack that Sotheby’s is going to serve you. The venerable auction house has been tasked with disposing of six of Stuttgart’s finest, and the transporter they come on and all in an as new condition apparently.  Somehow it seems that Hot Wheels has just gotten real.

Each of the 911s is the more recent 991.2 generation, and all are GT3s except for one, which is a little bit more special. Imagine turning up at the local 911 track day with this rig and picking the red one because that is how you feel today.

Imagine being able to pick the one with the ceramic breaks and stripped-down interior for minimum weight or the one with the extended tank and fire extinguisher package.

Then there is the GT3 Cup car, which has never been on the road. In fact, it is still in its protective wrapping, the one that the dealership normally takes off before they present you with the keys. Or the GT3 R, which you could get in and drive straight onto the Nürburgring 24-hour race. This car has never seen the road yet!

Last but not least is a 911.1 GT3 Touring, the black wingless one in the pic above, which has carbon-ceramic brakes and bucket seats.

The lot is to be sold by Sotheby’s in what is known as a sealed bid drop. The auction house has not provided an estimate of how much they expect them to sell for, but there is no reserve price. If you are thinking of bidding, though, you may like to know that the GT3 touring is valued somewhere near USD500,00 alone.

I couldn’t find any information on who the seller is but apparently, he bought the fleet of automotive excellence to fulfil a childhood dream, and then changed his, or, her mind.
