Major Traffic Operation Phase 2 Commences in Kuala Lumpur Today
KUALA LUMPUR – In a bid to enhance road safety and enforce strict compliance with traffic regulations, the Kuala Lumpur police will initiate Phase Two of the Law Enforcement Operation from September 15th to September 29th. This initiative builds on the success of Phase One and aims to tackle various road traffic offenses within the capital city.
Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, Chief of the Kuala Lumpur Police, highlighted the positive impact of the integrated operation on road users’ compliance with traffic rules. The operation will encompass seven key areas, including Operation Illegal Parking, Operation Roadblock, Operation Traffic Lights, Operation Registration Plates, Operation Tinted Windows, Operation Motorcycles, and Operation Education.
A total of 16 locations will serve as focal points for the operation, including significant intersections like Tun Razak Road, Tuanku Abdul Rahman Road, Raja Laut Road, and Sultan Ismail Road. The operation will be carried out during peak hours, involving a deployment of 1,000 personnel, including senior and junior officers.
The operation is a collaborative effort involving three agencies: the Road Transport Department, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, and the Department of Environment.
During Phase One, which ran from July 1st to July 31st, a staggering 157,000 summonses were issued for various traffic offenses. Datuk Allaudeen emphasized that strict enforcement would continue, and road users were urged to adhere to traffic signs and regulations for the safety of all parties.
“We will not compromise with anyone involved in committing traffic offenses,” warned Allaudeen.
The public is advised to stay informed about the operation’s activities and exercise caution while on the roads during this period. With Phase Two now underway, law enforcement agencies are committed to creating safer roadways and reducing traffic violations in Kuala Lumpur.
