Hyundai Philippines Launches The All-New 2021 Venue At Below P1Million
Hyundai Philippines has launched the all-new Venue subcompact SUV, starting a little above the P900,000 mark for its entry-level variant (GL), while its highest trim-level (GLS) is just P15,000 shy of 1 million. The 2021 Hyundai Venue in the Philippines measures 4040 mm long, which is 125 mm shorter than the Hyundai Kona, but longer than the Hyundai Venue that you would find in India, which had a bit shaved off to qualify for tax break. The rest of the vehicle measures 1770 mm wide and 1590 mm tall for the GLS variant and 1565 mm tall for the GL variant.
EXTERIOR
On the outside, the Hyundai Venue has a wide face with urban styling. Just like the Kona, this SUV comes with split-level headlights; the actual bi-function halogen headlamps, LED position lamps and daytime running lights are located towards the front fascia of the vehicle and closer to the hood. With its design theme of youthful fun, energy and excitement, it also comes with a large grille that is similar to the Hyundai Tucson. It features a three-dimensional pattern made of black and chrome steel.
The side of the vehicle comes with a black plastic cladding near its side skirts and a sloping beltline that extends from the hood up to the tailgate at the rear of the vehicle. The Venue also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails in the GLS variant.
The rear features a clean simple hatch, with small, multi-element taillights. Hyundai states that the Z-themed lights are meant to give the vehicle a more vibrant personality.
POWER
Hyundai Venue is powered by a 1.6-litre multi-point injection gasoline engine. Power is a decent 123ps and 151Nm of torque at 4,850rpm. With only one transmission option, this SUV is equipped with a 6-speed automatic.
CHASSIS
Hyundai reportedly used Advanced High-Strength Steel for 46 percent of the chassis and high-strength material to improve rigidity and safety.
SAFETY
When it comes to safety, the Hyundai Venue is well equipped. It comes with two at the front for the driver and front passenger, and in the GLS variant, an additional four side- and curtain-airbags.
INTERIOR
It has a simple yet durable interior. The Venue features a black and gray theme. The dashboard is laid out in a T pattern wherein an 8-inch touchscreen is available with Apple Car and Android Auto capabilities. It has simple climate controls and easy-to-read analog gauges with an infotainment system for the rearview camera.
When it comes to space, the trunk space is all of 355 litres with all seats up, and the rear seats can split-fold for additional room.
The Hyundai Venue is priced at PhP 915,000 for the 1.6 GL 6AT and PhP 985,000 for the 1.6 GLS 6AT. Colors are: Denim Blue, Fiery Red, Cosmic Grey, Polar White, and Phantom Black.
