227 houses and 365 vehicles were damaged in today’s gas pipeline blaze in Putra Heights.
Fire and Rescue Department Director-General Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad said of the 227 houses, 79 were destroyed.
The damaged vehicles meanwhile include 275 cars and 56 motorcycles.
Though no deaths were reported, a total of 145 people were injured and are receiving treatment in several hospitals.
The fire could be felt kilometers away from the flames and images from the site shows cars melted from the heat of the flames.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but cyber warriors are out with unconfirmed allegations that contractors had been digging in the reserve land and hit the gas pipeline.
Police are still investigating these claims, and there is no concrete evidence that proves that negligence was the cause of the fire.
Authorities are looking for anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
