Doesn’t he believe in his son’s “invention”? Automologist HAROLD wonders…
Errol Musk, the father of Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla, Inc., Space X and The Boring Company, does not own nor drive a Tesla car, the invention that made his son globally famous and the world’s richest with a value of US$242 billion.
Instead, the notorious and terrible father drives a Bentley, Rolls Royce and a Mercedes Benz. Is it because Errol does not believe his son’s Tesla can come close to the mechanical supremacy and distinctive luxury of these other marques? Or that Tesla is just an overpriced and hyped up golf cart? Or does he simply dislike his son altogether?
Truth to tell, the Musk family, originally from the former apartheid state of South Africa, is a very controversial family. Errol claims a rich ancestry and is rumored to own an emerald mine in Zambia; he apparently is also guilty of worker abuse and have admitted to shooting and killing three people who broke into his house in Johannesburg in “self-defense”, and his ex-wife had rather live on peanut butter sandwich and bean soup for years than remain in the marriage. The son, Elon, funded his college studies with a student loan. On top of this, Errol admitted to having an affair with a stepdaughter.
Besides being known as the world’s richest man today, acclaimed innovator and pioneer of mind-boggling projects, Elon has been mired in rumors of misbehavior, including a series of extra marital affairs and a transgender daughter cutting ties with him. I strongly doubt the richest man is a happy man.
The father does not even admire his son’s success, claiming that Elon’s success comes from a successful heritage. Does this explain why he doesn’t own nor drive a Tesla?
