The 2015 Ducati Scrambler takes its cue from the Scramblers of the sixties and seventies, as well as from contemporary customs. Slated for an early 2015 launch, there will be four versions: the first has been christened ‘Icon’ and will be the base model ideal for customisation; following closely is the ‘Classic’, so named beause of its retro good looks accented with an extended rear mudguard; then there is the ‘Urban Enduro’, outfitted for, well, endurance in extreme off-road adventures complete with military colours; and last but not least, the ‘Full Throttle’, which is inspired by the seventies’ American flat-track racers, and features slip-on Termignoni twin silencer and low handlebars.
The bike’s 803cc engine generates 75hp and sports a hefty 13” front disc brake. ABS comes as a standard. Much of the design and technology that we see in other bikes developed in the Ducati stable, such as the Monster and Hypermotard, are also incorporated into the Scrambler.
