David Beckham Presents Electric Jaguar XK140 to Son as Wedding Gift

Football legend David Beckham certainly knows how to choose a gift. As a present to his son, Brooklyn Beckham, who recently tied the knot, David presented an electrified 1954 Jaguar XK140 worth US$500,000 or RM2.11 million thereabouts.
The company behind the restoration and electrification of this classic vehicle is Lunaz, of which David has taken a 10% stake since June 2021. Now that’s pretty clever in our books. Not only did David purchase something from which he would receive some returns (do you think he paid full price? Or at all?), the publicity he gets for his investment is priceless. In fact, since David became involved with Lunaz, the company has doubled its workforce and has a waiting list that stretches until January 2024. Wow.
The classic two-seater commissioned by David took 120 craftspersons, designers and EV technicians – all part of the Lunaz in-house team – thousands of hours to restore and convert to an electric powertrain. Besides that, brakes, suspension and steering have been uprated and the dials and switches apparently resembles that of the original – the only incongruent feature is the battery gauge.
The company is set to establish the UK’s largest remanufacturing and electrification facility where they are currently based in Silverstone, UK.
Brooklyn married actress and heiress, Nicole Peltz, in a lavish ceremony at Palm Beach, Florida. Before David handed the gift over to his eldest son, he took his just-as-famous-perhaps-more wife, Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice, for a spin in the stunning baby blue Jag with light cream interior, in which they looked quite the youthful pair.
Certainly better than any wedding present any of us here have ever received.
