Aston Martin DBX707 – World’s Most Powerful Luxury SUV Unleashed in Malaysia
Many of us know that Aston Martin has carved a name for itself in the pantheon of brilliant automobiles. Now, with the unveiling of the world’s most powerful luxury SUV on our shores recently, the DBX707, it has etched its name even deeper.
This SUV is a monster: blistering performance, supreme dynamics, unmatched luxury and timeless aesthetics, everything oozes class. It derives its name from the insane power output of its engine, a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing class-leading 707PS and 900Nm, with the incorporation of ball bearing turbochargers and a bespoke engine calibration which liberates more power and torque from the V8 engine. How much of an increase from its predecessor, you ask? It’s a whopping 157PS and 200Nm more!
A 9-speed automatic transmission is fitted for the first time in the DBX. The ‘wet clutch’ transmission is linked to an electronic limited slip rear differential (e-diff) that has been strengthened to handle the full 900Nm of torque.
“The Aston Martin DBX707 launches us to the pinnacle of one of the most hotly-contested segments in the luxury car market, both locally and abroad. Having the most powerful SUV in the world amongst our stable of celebrated sports cars and supercars is the natural step forward for Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur given our brand history that is steeped in racing heritage and engineering of the highest order,” said Mr Kumara Sooriar Sivanasan, General Manager of Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur.
Century sprint is done in 3.3 seconds while maximum speed is at 310km/h. It is indisputably the fastest and most powerful luxury SUV in the world. To manage that intensifying power, carbon ceramic brakes (CCB) are used – 420mm in front and 390mm in the rear. The rotors of the CCB are gripped by 6-piston calipers and contribute to an overall reduction of 40.5kg in unsprung weight.
“Race Start” is featured on the GT Sport and Sport+ driving modes, giving you the full experience of the vehicle’s unrivalled off-the-line acceleration. The air suspension features new damper valving with recalibrated dynamic spring volume matching for improved body control and electronic power steering response.
To distinguished itself from the DBX V8, the front end of the DBX707 has a larger front grille defined by six double-vaned horizontal bars and newly-designed daytime-running lights (DRL). Added on are new air intakes, brake cooling ducts and new front splitter profile. These modifications help improve cooling airflow to maintain optimum performance while creating a unique, visual identity for the range-topping Aston Martin SUV.
At the back, a new lip spoiler is added to the roof wing to reduce lift and increase high-speed stability while the twin rear diffuser rises to meet the new, large-diameter quad-exhaust system and finished in satin black.
Inside you get sport seats with sleek, dark chrome switchgear complementing the satin black that compliments the exterior. On top of that , you get three choices of interior settings: Accelerate, Inspire, and Sport. All seat options come with 16-way electric adjustment plus heating as standard while Piano Black veneer is draped across the cabin as standard. If you want to take it up a notch, carbon fibre and bronze metal mesh finishes are available as options.
How much? RM1,098,000 excluding duties, taxes, options and customisation. The DBX707 is offered with an optional extended warranty coverage of up to 20 years similar to every model that is sold by Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur.
