The Phoenix 2014 Trans Sport Show – Fuels A Driving Generation
The Philippines’ longest running motor show, Trans Sport Show, principally sponsored and presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, was held for the 23rd time. This year, it took place at the largest convention centre in the country, the SMX Convention Centre, from 22 to 25 of May 2014. This year’s event showcased a wide diversity of both contemporary and nostalgic show cars.
‘Trans Sport Show has always been a fitting venue for… all generations of car enthusiasts under one roof, offering them a four-day experiential and educational event. We do not only entertain but do a lot of information dissemination on automotive history to educate most especially the new breed of car enthusiasts,’ said Sophie delos Santos, President of Tradeshow International, organiser of the event. ‘Trans Sport Show is much like your favourite car magazine or website in the flesh.’
The 2014 edition of Trans Sport Show displayed three automotive marques celebrating special anniversaries:
- 100 years of Maserati, its first and third-generation Ghibli were showcased side by side;
- 100 years of Dodge, an old-school and new-school Challenger were on display and
- Mustang’s 50th year, beautifully restored classic Mustangs were presented – a 1968 Mustang, one stock and one race-prepped, was shown by Route 66, Trans Sport Show Best of Show winner.
This year’s Trans Sport Show also provided the latest trends in the car show scene, from the current styling and performance enhancement craze to the latest aftermarket products and services to complete their show experience. There were trade and retail booths offering “show special” promotions as well as new product launches. Show presentor’s lead product, Phoenix Premium 98, was featured as a “lost engine performance restorer” that makes it possible for your car to be reborn.
Phoenix also endorsed X-1R products as proven engine-performance and fuel-efficiency enhancers. The tyre and wheel industry highlighted Saffiro tyres and Concept One wheels.
According to Celine Matias, Phoenix’s Brand Development and Markeing Head, ‘The very satisfactory assessment of over 100 exhibitors and retail booth participants and the thousands of happy visitors are testaments of the event’s overall success.’
‘The leadership of Phoenix for this year’s Trans Sport Show is a demonstration of its leadership in the petroleum retailing industry as the industry’s fastest growing retailer,’ said Phoenix’s COO, Romeo de Guzman.
