Perodua Grabs Gold at Malaysia’s Putra Brand Awards for Second Consecutive Year

Perodua President and CEO Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh receives Perodua’s Gold award in the Automotive category at the 2018 Putra Brand Awards.

For the second year running, Perodua was awarded Gold at the 2018 Putra Brands Awards last Friday.

The Malaysian car-driving public chose the compact car corporation, which is Malaysia’s largest car company, as their favourite automotive brand.

Perodua has had runaway successes—like the new Myvi—selling 117,100 vehicles in the first half of 2018, and continues to be the market leader.

“We are pleased, yet humbled by this recognition and will further improve ourselves to continue to offer the best products and services to our customers specifically and to Malaysians via our many engagement programmes,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh said.

Perodua has collected many accolades at the Putra Brand Awards, having won awards in eight of the nine years the event has been held, whereby a brand’s position is based on interviews with the public.

The event is organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) and supported by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

For this year, the organisers partnered with global market research and consulting firm IPSOS to compile the largest brand research sample in Malaysia, with over 7,000 interviews conducted.

“We wish to thank all involved in the organisation of this event. The Putra Brand Awards truly sets a benchmark for brands to continually improve,” said Datuk (Dr) Aminar.

Launched in 2010 by the 4As in association with Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands (MMVB), the Putra Brand Awards is supported by the Malaysian Advertisers Association, the Media Specialists Association and the Malaysian Digital Association.
