Hey, Missy, You’re So Fine
It’s so fine, it makes others whine.
According to Taiwan’s Xing Mobility, its car can do 0-100 km/h in 1.8 seconds! Yes, that’s a fraction of a second faster than Tesla’s roadster, which the guys from Palo Alto say is capable of 1.9 seconds.
The Taiwanese ‘electric powertrain’ startup, which was founded in 2015, says 0-200 km/h can be done in 5.1 seconds with a top speed of over 270km/h.
As shown in the video clip (below), this car is capable of on-road and light off-road jaunts.
The entire battery can be hot-swapped in less than 5 minutes.
The car with the rather peculiar name, Miss R, has four 350v motors that propel it. 4,116 lithium-ion cells generate a whopping 1,341 hp and 1,720 Nm of torque, with 250 km of electric driving range of this rally-inspired supercar.
Torque vectoring coupled with its ability to handle a rough surface is key to its performance.
The “Lego-like” design of Xing Mobility’s battery packs gives operational flexibility.
Xing Mobility CEO and co-founder, Royce YC Hong, says the Miss R prototype has other purposes too:
“Miss R is not just a toy to have fun in, but it is also a R&D platform from which Xing Mobility is able to innovate advanced electric vehicle technologies.”
Super fast: 0-100 km/h in 1.8 seconds.
Xing says the company is working with commercial and industrial vehicle manufacturers around the world to develop electric drivetrains, and to bring its technology to city buses, ride-sharing vehicles, construction equipment, boats and trucks.
Like a domino effect, automakers are ripping 0-100 km/h speed records to shreds. Could there be a sub 1-second time?
