The name Brabham conjures up images of speed, innovation and winning. True to that, Brabham’s 700hp supercar monster hits all the right notes. Former racing driver David Brabham, the son of triple Formula One champion Sir Jack Brabham, has relaunched the brand with a bang.

The car carries the same initials – BT – in reverence to Jack Brabham and loyal engineer Ron Tauranac, who both founded the Brabham racing team.

Called the BT62, the car is set to sell for a cool £1 million (RM5.3mil), excluding taxes. It dons the same green and gold livery as the car in which Jack Brabham gained his first victory at the 1966 French Grand Prix. He remains the only driver to win the Formula One world championship in a car of his own construction (in 1966).

The car is absolutely stunning and will give other track-only supercars, like the McLaren Senna and Ferrari FXXK, a good run for their money.

This new supercar weighs in at 972kg and has a monstrous 5.4-litre 700hp V8 engine. It is paired to a six-speed sequential transmission and its sole purpose is to power the rear wheels. A massive rear wing is capable of providing over 1,200kg of downforce.

Only 70 models will be built and the first 35 models will pay homage to the brand’s 35 Formula One victories.

For now, let the pictures speak:
