Overrated Car Accessories (to put it mildly)

An oversized spoiler is not just useless, but adds weight, increases drag and causes the car to guzzle more fuel. So, if these are what you are trying to achieve, then go ahead.

Fake bullet hole stickers. They don’t look very real, anyway, and it’s more lame than funny.

You might be a Tron fan and some new cars (like the higher end Ford’s) do use neon accents, but unless you have the skill and artistic flair to make it cool, you will tend to go overboard if attempting it yourself.

Sure, you’d want to protect your car from scratches and chips, but using a car bra is not a bright idea. It usually loosens after awhile (like an actual bra would) and scratches the paint which it was supposed to protect. It also looks like your car has been muzzled. Maybe try paint protection film instead.

Your collection of stuffed toys, dolls, bobble heads, action figures and pillows displayed along the rear window ledge, dashboard or in the backseat is a surefire way of advertising that you are a child trapped in an adult’s body. It’s fine if they actually belong to your child, but please don’t use them as auto accessory.

Blinged-out accessories are, but for handbags, shoes, jewellery and phone covers only. A bedazzled car is just trying too hard.

Unless you own a million-dollar Lamborghini, scissor doors just scream that you are craving attention but can’t afford the luxury car to get yourself some. Furthermore, you will always need to think about having sufficient height clearance to be able to get out of the car.

Skulls, pistols, eyeballs and other 'mean' designs are more in poor taste than they are intimidating.

Is there a flood that you are trying to get through? Otherwise, these oversized wheels and thin tyres are out of proportion with the vehicle’s precisely engineered design to achieve good handling, fuel economy and high performance. The skinny tyres will also do nothing to protect the huge and probably expensive wheels.
