Tensions are high between the mighty Mercedes duo who completed yet another one-two finish at the Monaco Grand Prix. Not only did Nico Rosberg break Lewis Hamilton's winning streak, the real drama took place during the qualifying - the German's error brought out the yellow flag and prevented his teammate from advancing. After examination by the race stewards, Rosberg was allowed to maintain his pole position.

Rosberg went on to finish the race 9.2 seconds ahead of Hamilton and 9.6 seconds ahead of Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo. Four-time defending champion, Sebastian Vettel, continues to be down on luck this season as a power-unit failure caused him to bow out on the eighth lap.

Whether or not Rosberg's accident was intentional, and he denies that it was, it has caused the duo's fragile relationship to fracture even more - evident during the post-race interviews when questioned about their relationship, to which Hamilton answered curtly, "I don’t really have an answer for you there."

Rosberg's second victory of this season nudges him past Hamilton in the drivers' standings with 122 points. Hamilton presently stands at four points behind. In third place is Ferrari's Fernando Alonso who trails behind with a large 57-point gap.
